Universal Analytics is being replaced

by | Mar 17, 2022 | XNUMX Conversion, Google | 0 Comments

You may have already heard, but from July 1, 2023, new hits will no longer be processed by Universal Analytics (UA). The advice is therefore to switch to Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

Help, I don't know what kind of property I have

Did you create your property before October 14, 2020? Then there is a good chance that you use UA. If you created this after October 14, 2020, there is certainly a chance that you have GA4. In that case you don't have to do anything. If you don't know when you created your property, there is another way to check which version you are using. Go to Google Analytics and look under the property name. You should see numbers there. If this only contains numbers, use GA4. Does it also contain a UA-? Then you use Universal Analytics.

What does this mean for me in concrete terms?

It means that you can continue to use your UA property and collect data until July 1, 2023. After this date you have a limited time to process and export this data. Six months to be precise, so it is best to export the reports around this period before you no longer have access. Google will provide another update from which date the existing UA properties will no longer be available. After this period you will no longer be able to view reports and you will no longer have access to UA. Therefore, keep an eye on our blog for the latest Google Analytics news!
