No longer being punished for duplicate content?

by | Feb 9, 2021 | content marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) | 0 Comments

At the end of January Google let us know that we will no longer look at duplicate content. This means that it is no longer counted in the ranking of a website. Duplicating content on multiple pages will no longer be punished. But are you doing the right thing for your visitors to provide the same content on every page? After all, a website is intended to convince people of your service.

When the same content is duplicated on a website, not everything will be ranked by Google. This means that it will not have a negative effect on your ranking. What Google will be working on is finding out which page will best match what the visitor is looking for. Would it be a good idea to duplicate each piece of content on multiple pages? If you want your visitors to register through organic traffic, it is better not to duplicate content.

So write unique content for each page. This informs the visitor which service you offer. Only with this will your website be properly indexed and you will receive organic traffic on every page.

Unique pages write more wisely?

To get every page on your website indexed as best as possible, it is wiser to write unique content. As previously described, you will not be penalized if you have duplicate content, but it also has no advantages. You'll finish filling your pages faster, but you won't gain anything from it. So still actively start writing unique content on your website. This alone increases the chance that your website will be fully indexed.

When you sell someone else's product, you often use the same content. After all, you want people to buy the product through you. Google will no longer index your page negatively. They consciously look at the page that best matches the product. Technically this is considered duplicate content, but this will no longer be a problem.

Of course, the fact that Google will no longer look at this does not mean anything about your website. So still actively start writing unique content. Your organic traffic would like to read information that is unique and fits the product you sell.
