Content marketing is and remains a popular way to attract more web traffic. What is central to this form of marketing is offering relevant information (content) to the target group. People appreciate it when you offer them information that they can actually use. Content marketing not only increases web traffic. It also creates a bond between company and visitor.

The ultimate goal of content marketing is of course to attract and retain visitors. You do this by creating a bond with the visitor and then maintaining it. Content marketing takes many forms. The best-known form is writing blogs, like this one. However, there are countless other ways to create content. Perhaps you would like to make podcasts or YouTube videos. In addition, E-books, infographics or animations are other well-known forms of content marketing. There are plenty of possibilities! So look at what you think your target group is looking for. 

Indirectly promote your products or services

As you may already notice, creating content offers opportunities to indirectly promote your products or services. Consider it a kind of surreptitious advertising. For example, in blogs you can link internally to your website. While recording a YouTube video or a podcast, you can subtly mention your company, or mention the name of your business in another way. 

The purpose of this indirect promotion is of course to ensure that people take follow-up actions after reading, listening or viewing the content. By linking internally, you make taking these steps a lot easier for the visitor. 

What requirements must my content meet?

Recent research shows that more than 90% of B2B marketers in the US are committed to... content marketing. This is not without reason. Consistently informing and advising visitors ensures that you create a connection with these visitors. They will be more likely to go to your website because they know they will find valuable information there. Would you like to focus more on content marketing? Then a number of factors are important. Writing content actually starts with the visitor: what is the visitor interested in? What do they want to learn more about? In addition, it naturally helps enormously when the content of the content matches the products and/or services you offer. If we look at the content, there are a number of aspects that can take your content to a higher level. First, it is important not to make a sales pitch. So don't write from the first person, but rather consider it as an informal presentation. You tell your story in a fun, but at the same time interesting way. Include important information about your company in the text, but generalize this, for example, to a situation or problem in your entire industry. If you consistently inform and entertain your potential customers with unique content, you will notice that these customers will return to your company more often. If you notice that there is a demand for more information about a certain topic or product, you can respond to this by writing a blog about it. Don't hesitate to give content marketing a try. Not only do you inform other people about a certain subject, but you can also learn something from it yourself while writing.
