Link building and creating authority is still an essential part of optimization for Google. Everyone involved in SEO still does everything they can to create as much authority (PageRank, link juice, whatever you want to call it) to their website. As a result, they often ignore the nofollow links they encounter along the way (pun intended). But is this actually necessary? What is the exact influence of nofollow links on your ranking in Google?

Previously, I - and many others along with me - focused on the hard task of collecting link juice: a technical term for the value that is passed on via a link, as it were. Sometimes I came across really good link options, which I then abandoned because it was a 'rel=nofollow link'.
